General Information
The purposes and objectives of the Legion shall be: To constitute an association of those who served or are serving in his Canadian armed forces, any auxiliary forces, the R.C.M.P. and others who support the purposes and objectives of the legion.
Membership in Branch 32 is open to: Those who are serving or have served in the armed forces of our country together with their widows or widowers and dependents and such others from time to time are admitted. Joining the Legion is simple, you can:
Join online - Join your local Legion Branch from the comfort of you home at www.legion.ca
Join by phone - Get help registering from our Member Help Desk. Call toll-free 1-855-330-3344 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST.
Join at your local Branch - Apply in person at Legion Branch #32 by contacting the branch at 506-734-2289 or visiting our Branch at 31 Legion Street, Hillsborough N.B. and request an application form and submit this to the membership committee.
Membership at Branch 32 is valid and renewed each year for the period of January 1 to December 31. The cost per person is currently set at $50 on an annual basis and is due by January 31st. Renewals can be done online through Memberperks or can be paid in person at the local branch by cheque.

Membership Categories include:
Ordinary: Membership includes Canadian Forces or His Majesty’s Forces including regular or reserve forces under class C service, non military service i.e. Merchant Navy, Reserve Forces, R.C.M.P. or R.N.C., Canadian Coast Guard and Provincial Police Forces members.
Associate Members: Any Canadian citizen or Commonwealth subject, who is of voting age, and is related to a person who is or was eligible to be an ordinary member.
Affiliate Voting Members: Any Canadian citizen or Commonwealth subject who is of voting age and who is not eligible for ordinary or associate membership.
Affiliate non-voting Membership: Includes non-Canadian citizens or non-Commonwealth subjects from an Allied nation who support The Royal Canadian Legion’s aims and objectives.

Being a member of Branch 32 includes a vast array of benefits and privileges. Members are provided with a no charge life insurance policy of $4000., also have access to the online legion poppy store (www.poppystore.ca). The store provides exclusive access to Legion clothing, gifts and accessories, flags, stands, Poppy and Remembrance Day articles and gifts. Purchasing items at the store provides member savings and helps the Legion support its members.

Members also have access to extensive savings through the Memberperks for Legion Program. Through this program you can renew your membership, find the poppy store and find access to savings through the participation of local and national stores and organizations. Savings can be found in many areas, Auto, Entertainment, Fashion, Food and Drink, Home and Living, Health and Happiness, Pet, Sports and Recreation and Travel.
To sign up for the program all you need to do is go to Memberperks for Legion, provide your Legion membership number and your email address and then you are in and access all the savings.

A primary function of Branch 32 is to provide an atmosphere for comradeship of its members. To achieve this the Branch is currently open at the following times:
Wednesday 2 - 10 p.m.
Friday 2 - 10 p.m.
Saturday 2 - 12 midnight
*Note: These times may change to more frequent opening hours as demand indicates. During these hours of operation the Branch does host the following activities: Darts on Wednesday 7 to 10 p.m. Cards on Friday 6 to 10 p.m. Access to an honour based library system.

The Branch also has a Service Officer who will help qualified members to access services with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
​
Branch Service Officers assist serving and retired members of the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police by identifying those with unmet health needs and possible benefits from Veteran Affairs Canada and by making appropriate referrals to Command Service Officers.

If you, or someone you know is a veteran or serving member and is in need of assistance with applications or access to services from Veterans Affairs please contact the Service Officer at Branch 32 for assistance. Veterans do not need to be members of the Legion to access this service.
The Hillsborough Legion is also committed to providing support to the families of serving members while they are deployed. The Service Officer may also be able to assist veterans with needs not met by Veterans Affairs in certain cases.

The Branch supports its members with a Remembrance Day Ceremony, annual members reward banquet and other member focused events.
​
The Branch also has an outreach program that involves supporting the local Navy League Cadets and the Sea Cadets.
​
Branch 32 has a dining hall, local community groups rent this hall, such as Saint Mary's Anglican Church, (they provide a monthly community meal), also the Four H Club, Tops and Yoga. The hall is available for rental to other organizations or personal events such as birthday parties, anniversary parties, weddings, showers etc. The dining hall has a kitchen that is operated by the Ladies Auxiliary who may assist groups with their function. They also support the branch during ceremonial events.
